You Are My Sunshine

Gavin Michael was born Wednesday June 10, 2009 at 9:09am. He was 7lbs. 14oz. and 19.75 inches long. He is absolutely perfect in every way! He has such a sweet disposition and he doesn't cry 20 hours a day like his sister did (much to the relief of his mother). He is such a wonderful addition to our family and we are all completely smitten with him.

These are his hospital pictures. They actually have a studio in the hospital that takes the baby pictures.

This is Gavin shortly after birth. I love how even the c-section babies have that swollen water-overload look.
Mommy and Gavin together for the first time! He is so precious. Don't you like the hair net??

Daddy and Gavin in recovery. Daddy was the first person to get to hold Gavin (besides the doctor and nurses). The nurse handed him to Ryan and Gavin fell silent for the first time. He cried from the time they pulled him out until they gave him to Ryan. How sweet!!

And of course the proud sister! Lexi is so in love with her little brother. She would sit and hold him all day if he would let her. But he seems to like mom some of the time too. Can't imagine why??
Isn't she so sweet? While we were in the recovery room, Gavin was crying and couldn't be consoled. Lexi began singing "You Are My Sunshine" and he fell silent. When she quit, he began again. So she started singing again, and he quit crying. She is now our little singer when Gavin is crying!
Our first family picture. This was the day we went home. What a sweet day!

Stubborn

After 2 months of bladder infections, 6 months of heartburn, 6 months of contractions, 4 weeks of bedrest, 7 weeks off work, swollen ankles, back pain, and 2 labor scares we have finally decided to relent and give in to a repeat c-section. This baby is proving to be even more stubborn than the child we have now. He is in no hurry to get here and I think if he had his way he would stay in me forever. So, the date is set! Wednesday June 10th we will cheat nature and force this child to come. Stay tuned for updates and pics of soon to come Baby Wing!

Once Upon a Lily Pad

Starring Lexi Wing!! And of course she did fantastic!! This little girl had 40 lines, a solo, and all the songs that the rest of the kids sang as well to memorize and she did great!! She didn't mess up once, was the most confident one out there and the most understandable. She has a natural talent. We are so proud of her!!! I don't think I can brag enough...I have never been so proud of anyone in my entire life! As we were going to the classroom after the play, I overheard many parents saying how "incredible that Lexi Wing was". And she really was that incredible! A video of Lexi's solo coming soon!!

The Belly

Daddy/Daughter Tea Party

Every Saturday, Lexi and Ryan have a Daddy/Lexi day so that I can have a quiet sleep after work on Saturday mornings. However, with my being off work I have been able to help Lexi make the decision for what to do. She held a daddy/daughter tea party this past Saturday and as you can tell, it was a hit!
They had a very deep conversation about important things like Chuck-E-Cheese and what she wants to do for her birthday in 4 months. :)
They had some tasty treats...chocolate, of course!

However, half way through the tea party (using sleepytime tea by the way), there was an interesting suprise found in one of the tea cups. Dust or hair of some sort was found...and of course poured straight down the drain.
Instead, it became a milk party!
Which they were just fine with!
And why drink from a cup...

When you can sip through a chocolate wafer?
Overall, I think it was a "rather splendid" tea party!

Oh what do you do in the Spring time...

...when you are stuck in bed? Today my doctor informed me that I am to have another 2 weeks off work and in bed. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am not the kind of person to sit still. I watch TV once a week on Thursday nights. Almost all other times of my day are spent moving around doing things. I rarely sit down except at nights to read. Here are some of the things that I am up to now.
Chuck on Monday nights!! Fabulous! And you can watch it on NBC.com anytime during the week!
On Thursday nights you can catch the most hilarious show ever..The Office! LOVE IT!!
Followed by 30 Rock!! Very fun show!
Some other things that I am also enjoying now includes Sudoku puzzles...
I have been reading quite a bit from the scriptures. What better time to try and find peace in your life when you are forced to take it easy and relax
I am also reading the Harry Potter Books. I am currently on The Goblet of Fire and enjoying it so much! I have also been spending a lot of time planning for the baby. We still have so much to do and now all I can do is sit and plan. I have actually made a list of all the things we need, price checked from Babies-R-Us, Target, and Wal-Mart and totaled up the final cost. (too much time)

So, my dilemma is that I am trying to find something to do that will make me feel like I am being productive and won't make me break my doctors orders. What suggestions do you have?? Any thoughts would be great!!

Easter

This was probably the best Easter! Ryan and I had so much fun getting everything ready for Lexi and of course she loved it!
She was a little reluctant to get out of bed.
Even once she was out of bed it took a little bit for the excitement to hit.
But once she saw her Easter basket she had no trouble waking up!!
She had such a fun time finding all the eggs. (I never noticed how short that gown was getting)
We all know she has no problem reaching the chandelier...or hanging from it.
Doesn't she look so cute?? She had a matching dress for her new sock monster she got at the baby shower the day before.
After church we went to to our friends Helmont and Jeanette's for Easter dinner. We had a little hunt with their daughter Julianna.
The boys were so mean and hid most of Lexi's eggs to high for her to even reach!! I don't think I could have reached this one.
What a fun Easter it was! I can't wait until next year!
